Reminders
Please keep red Take Home Folders in backpacks daily and
be sure to check them regularly at home for completed schoolwork, new assignments, announcements, and information.

P.E. is on Mondays & Wednesdays. Please wear appropriate shoes.
​
Library books are due the Monday before our next Tuesday library visit
(or Friday before if the Monday falls on a Holiday).
Our next library visits are March 10 and March 24.

Wednesdays are late start schedule for all students, 9:15am-2:50pm. Snacks are NOT available for purchase on Wednesdays during snack recess.
​
Please label all water bottles, snack and lunch containers, and jackets with your child's name to help them get returned properly if misplaced or left behind at school.
Main Areas We're Working On Presently
Writer's Workshop - We are learning how to plan, organize, write, and revise opinion writing.
​
Reader's Workshop - We are learning to build reading stamina, work with reading partners and small groups, and develop reading fluency and good habits for solving hard words in both fiction and nonfiction books.
​
Phonics - We are studying long vowels, the silent e, and vowel teams, and continuing to build fluency with high-frequency words.
​
Math - We are working on number sense, place value, and math facts within 20.
Science - We are learning about Arctic animals - their habitats, characteristics, features, etc.
​
Social Studies/History - We are learning about United States presidents and symbols, and important leaders.
Homeroom
Homeroom provides a space to share photos and
gives families an inside look at the classroom.

A big thanks to all who have offered to volunteer their time to help our class. I will be reaching out for volunteers throughout the year to help with reader's workshop, classroom material preparation, field trips, and events.
All volunteers are required to have a PUSD Volunteer Form on file.

All drivers for field trips are required to have a Field Trip Driver Form on file.
